Hi,
i have a type of Goby which i have had for 2 days now, i would normally get it in pairs but there was only one left in the shop. I actually got it for a bargain as he put it in the tank where it said £1 for all fishes as a mistake, but he let us off and gave it lol, as he has had it for a long time.
It is not a fish that hides as it goes all around the tank and comes to the front of the tank when we go nearer to the tank.
It seems quite happy but i know it will be more happier with more companions with the same type of goby, which i need to know what type it is and if it is male or female? I will put pics on.

you have to go to the arrows that are going in circles in the corner of the area you type to switch between standard and the other form to post pics, it took me a while to find out too.

Upload the pictures to a hosting site (photobucket/imageshack etc) then copy the IMG code or URL here (theres a button for it, the button next to the drop down smiley list with a green plus sign) that helps.

Atlast i have put on couple of pictures of the goby...thanks for the help, i used imageshack to put them on... :)

Does anyone know what type of goby it is? It might not be too clear in the picture which i am sorry, but it is like a greeny colour which i do see yellow on the body and on the top fins, also see a blue colour on the bottom fin. His/her eyes change colour lol, as i see blue sometimes and then a goldy colour with occasionally i see green too.

He/she wasn't eating properly for the first 2 days as i dont think he/she knew where the food was coming from. I fed him bloodworms and he/she didn't even eat one, then i tried flake and he ate the odd little bits in the tank. Next day i tried again with bloodworms which he was probably hungry since he hasn't ate anything properly for couple of days, and he ate every bloodworm that came in his way. Now he is eating the flake food too, as i think he has realised that it is food and that he has probably been watching the other fishes when they eat.

He gets along with all of the other fishes in my tank and sometimes swims in one place and sometimes the other fish like my yoyo loach and clown loach swim by him and he follows them for a bit. He is also getting along with the angel fish which first of all he was getting attacked by them but not badly, and now they swim by him like he is not even there. :)

However i would rather prefer him being in pairs as i have a feeling he would be better with his own kind in the tank, so i really need to know what type of goby he is. Also that i need to know if it is male or female as you must have realised that i have been writing down 'he/she' lol. So i really want to know, if anyone can help me with information or even a link about this particular type of goby.

He is a really intresting fish to watch and is really different to the others... :p

wow the title of this thread is sooooooooooooooooooooooo long it takes up my whole screen

Thanks lol, other than the useless information of the title, do you know what type of goby it is???:p

if you just say ID please more people will look at the thread to see what fish it is :good:

I would guess dormitator maculatus or jade Goby.

Irrelevant really, all gobies similar to that are the same in terms of care really.
