Hello guys. 2 questions really.
Firstly i have a spare 2 foot clear seal tank, it was bought many many years ago and has suffered from a few scratches, some worse than others. Firstly is there anything that i can do to try and remove/lessen the scratches?

Secondly is there anywhere online that sells the hoods for these tanks with a light included, i have seen just plain hoods for sale but without lighting :(

Any help much appreciated.

Henry

Can you not just turn the tank around so the worst scratches are at the back?

I believe the hoods are just hoods and you would need to buy a light unit seperate.

Its been stored in a garage for a year or so and has scratches all over. Is there any website that sells like a hood and lighting kit?

No idea then Henry. Are you in the UK? Pets at home sell new hoods for these tanks, then you could just buy a lighting kit which is about £30 and place it on the ledge and the starter on the back ledge of the hood. (unless the newer hoods are different? mine was pretty old) Roughly looking at about £65 i would say for both pieces new. Alternatively have a look on ebay. :)

Cheers for the reply there :) Seems it would be cheaper to just buy a second hand set up on gumtree or ebay and just keep this crappy scratched one as an emergency tank.

Sounds wise mate :good: It can always do for a hospital tank or fry tank should you ever need one.

there is suppose to be some sort of acid that you can use to get the scratches to fade but this simply works by erroding the glass away which i would seriously recommend NOT doing as your weaking the strength of the glass by making it thinner just keep as an emergency tank
