I'd been hoping to get a single ceylon puffer on monday this week, and had been waiting for a couple of weeks for a tank to cycle ready for him - unfortunately of the 3 that have been in the shop for a few weeks now one was sold, one jumped out of the tank and the last remaining one died the afternoon i went to pick him up of some kind of fungal infection However as i had the tank all ready to go I saw a couple of figure 8's in another shop the week before, and ended up bringing two home yesterday!! Theyre both in freshwater at the moment and doing fine, but i have added my bumblebee gobies to the tank and will be raising salinity to 1.008 over the next month or so. One of them i felt i just had to bring home as the poor little guy only has one eye! it looks like it may be a birth defect as theres no wound, scarring or anyting, just smooth skin and a slight hollow where the eye should be! Hes perfectly healthy though, and seems to do just fine with the one eye, although he swims a little sideways so he can see straight ahead! Pics to follow soon as i have a camera, but in the mean time any advice re raising the SG?
