So I think I will just keep the 10-gallon tank unfilled. This was going to be a new fish for my two kids. I want to get a dog, but I'm waiting until they can be more responsible. What will happen is we get a dog or any new pet, then they will neglect the other pets, so I'm calling it off for a while.

Ok. Take all the time you need to be ready. Its good that you see that you're not ready. I'm sure once you come back to the tank you will be ready.

Maybe since it's a small tank a ranger pleco it's the smallest pleco known to man the price I got mine was 18$.

Don't put an "s" on the end of betta, you don't want it to sound like plural.
Yes, 1 male betta might be fine.

Sorry, I just thought that Honey Fish might think a group of bettas would fit in a 10 gallon. No offence was intended.

there is definitely a huge possibility that someone could think that you meant multiple bettas. This is subject(multiple bettas in one tank) is not as cut and dry as some may think. This is an ongoing discussion on this forum.
