I cycled it and the last fish died this morning. I am going to take the tank down and just stick to my betta's 2.5 gallon.

How did you cycle it?
Did you do a "qualifying week" where you got 0 ammonia/nitrite every 12 hours after dosing ammonia, for 7 consecutive days?
What fish did you add, numbers and species, once you thought it was cycled?

I did a fishless. I tried platys, swordtails, guppies, and an otto cat. (not all at once, within 7 months though) and they all died within a few weeks.

I started out with three platys and a swordtail. They died the day after I put a new rock in. I never restocked until about three months later. I put two platys in, they died in 4 days. Two weeks later, I tried two guppies. The last one died today.

I'm confused.  You can't have fishless cycled.  The last I heard you were attempting to cycle with fish food or shrimp, right?  But then you added guppies two weeks later - why?  I very much doubt the tank was cycled in that timeframe.

I'm sorry, but I think the chances are very high that your tank was not cycled and you added the fish too early :(

You started your cycle on 24th April and you said it was finished on 4th May.  That's 10 days which would have been really impressive if your tank had cycled that fast.  Since your fish died I suspect the cycle hadn't started.

I didn't cycle the tank when i first got it, yet the fish survived.

I wouldn't trust products to cycle any of my tanks. Just do it the good ol fashioned way. It has worked for me most every time.

Even if you add a mature filter sponge the fish tank can still go into a mini cycle.
It's just takes time and patience i'm afraid.. Even when it's cycled you can only add a few fish at a time as it can send
the tank into a mini cycle.

You seem quite adamant about the fact that the tank has cycled despite several fish deaths with that as the a very possible cause. If you really feel you must give up on the 10 gallon that's your choice, but if you take the time and make sure it's fully cycled Im sure it will work out for you. Fish don't just die for no reason

It's up to you if you start again. I do know you had a bad start.

I just need to take a break from the 10. I may go back to it later.
