I thought all of the first spawned fry had been eaten as I hadn't seen any but today after I did a water change and then went through the bucket of water I found 1 big Smaragdina fry. It was the size of a 2 week old fry on that bettas in growth picture website http://waynesthisandthat.com/bettagrowth.html and then I found about 20 a couple day old fry. It was crazy the size difference. When I saw the bigger one and the a couple day old ones next to eachother I was like gosh new ones are TINY

Anyways I know to most of you this means nothing but to me it's really cool and goes to show they can surive in my tank on their own. Who knows maybe in a couple of months I'll have somemore males and females :hyper:

hehe that is so cool! arent the babies just so cute! I wish I had some smaragdina...I just got imbellis that hopefully will spawn...but thats great you have babies congrats!

Yes the babies are soooo cute  That's awesome that you have some Imbellis ...just like you'd like to get some Smaragdinas I'd like to get some Imbellis :)

I wanted to add that I was just sitting and watching the tank and since I did the water change the fry got scattered :/ Dad is not happy I've been watching him patrolling the tank and wasn't sure what he was doing but then he came to the spot where the fry were before the water change and then all of sudden spat out 3 little fry :hyper: I would of thought he would be eating them especially after they were free swimming. I guess he learned from the first spawn and is now a better daddy :D
