Hi, I did a stupid thing today.
as some of you know I have a sick platy. Today I got her some bacterial medication at LFS and the lady told me to remove the carbon from filter before medicating. I have an UGF and the carBon is buried in the gravel. Well, being so worried with my platy and all, stupid me :S forgot to remove it.

Will something horrible happen? Should I run and remove it right now or is it too late for that and just leave things like that?

Thanks for any help!

nothing terrible will happen....the carbon just filters away the medication so it will be weaker (I think!?)
I would just take the carbon out and continue the medication process.

Oooh! I feel a partial relief. Thanks a lot for your answer. :D
I'll remove it right away, and now I can go to sleep.

Hi freshy, although you already have you answer I thought I would just quickly add the speed that carbon removes so that you know where you are with your medications.

I have been told that if you put in medications the carbon will remove them within two days. So if you removed the carbon quite quickly then you fish will have still had their full dose of meds, no need to worry. :D

Hope you fish feel better soon :D
