I have my first fish its a striped damsel, its doing great it hides since i got it but its starting to explore. So i just wanted to share my joy with everyone aand i will keep you posted.

Good to hear you are a bit excited

Gonna tell us your tank specs :good:

The tank is
29 gallons (30x12x18)
65 watt coral life light
arganite sand
ph 8.3
specific gravity 1.023
ammonia 0 ppm
2 powerhead 201
topfin 40 filter
5 pounds of liverock (getting more)

I have alot of questions that you experts can share what you think. Does anyone know how much live rock I should get? Do you think I could keep soft coral with the lighting I have now? Thanks for being so patient and I will listen to everyone opinion and your advice is greatly appreciated

30lbs of LR total ;). general rule of thumb is 1lb/gal minimum

hi i think im in same frame of mind as you am thinking of starting salt water tank as i have a 2ft tank to use was it hard to start up as i dont want fish to suffer and have loads of worry .i do have a 4ft fresh water tank up and running

It wasnt that hard 2 set it up jus take your time when doing it. My fish died cause we had a hurricane and my tanks temp dropped ten degress :( But im goin 2 get a new one this week. What type of fish do have in your other tank
