Hi...here is a challenge to keep things interesting. My brain (favites) has new 'sweeper tentacles' that I couldn't figure out. In addition to the sweepers emanating from the central portion of each polyp (brown, thin and stringy-like):
(pic taken while brain was ailing...see the brown sweepers ready to come out)

I found these coming from underneath the colony. I apologize for the picture....it was taken with a quick flashlight beam so that it wouldn't retract:

It is not a bristle worm...doesn't crawl. Movements are octopus-like. Arms are whitish.

Good luck..answer to follow. SH

Brittle Star

Man..you are good Chac. That's what I found out. In fact, when I added my tubipora musica a month or two ago, I remember seeing a hitchhiker star, only about a 1/2" in diameter, one evening and then never saw it again. When the favites was ailing, I moved it up higher to get more light...right next to the tubipora. I moved the brain down to the substrate again after it filled out. Looks like I have a brittle star under the brain.

Good pickup Chac. SH

Sorry to spoil the game - It was an honest guess :*) :*) :*) :*)
