Ok, so it's a breeding question even though i'm not breeding...
So when you condition your male and female you let them see eachother and feed them really high protein foods...so my question is...maybe dumb but anyway,
Is ok for the male and female to see each other when they're not conditioning? if you decide to breed them are they uninterested in each other or more interested or it makes no difference?
Anyway, just a question that popped into my mind that i don't recall hearing before.
Sorry if it's a repeat.

first to condition fish is just giving them extra don't always have to be high protein just more of what they get normally like bloodworm etc......and my males have sometime a choice as i will put a female either side and he can then pick which one he likes best and to be nasty spawn him with the other........  no don't do that but i have them see each other for about 15 minutes a day when going to spawn.............and also when ON DAY OF PUTTING HIM IN THE TANK I LET HIM SEE ANOTHER MALE FOR HALF AN HOUR then take it away he has then won the female....

iv always kept both fish away from any interactivity with each other or any other critter (besides myself), this gets them a little more exited when they do meet up, iv heard it helps but being able to physically get at each other should probably be enogh to stimulate them into mateing

I think the question is can betta girls and boys see each other if they are not conditioning. That is can she keep a girl and a boy next to eachother so they can see eachother even if they are not going to be bred any time in the near future.

I think the answer is yes. But I am not sure if they will not be interested in eachother when or if breeding time comes along. I am sure they will still be eager even if they know eachother. Perhaps, if you decide to breed a pair that can see eachother all the time, when it is time to condition them, separate them for a couple of days and reintroduce them? I am not a breeder, so I don't know.

thats a good question :) sometimes when i condition them... i do it for like 2 1/2 weeks and for the last few days i let them meet :) and then they go in the same tank (but also i ruin there spawning so she has been full of eggs for like 2 months now :S )
