I don't know what this is.

Is it just that one stark white spot?
Does it look like a hunk of salt, or moreso like a pimple or what?
It's kind of hard to get a good look at in the photo, but for as long as I've been on the forum, several people have come here looking for answers to what the "white spot under their betta's chin" is. And to my knowledge, no one has ever been able to answer it. Hence the reason there have been 23 people who have looked at your post but not responded.

How long has he had it, and does it appear to be growing?

To me it looks somthing like a rash.....

Some of my bettas have this. I think it is just coloring? Keep an eye on it and see if it gets better, worse, or stays the same.

The other side looks the same. He got it a few days ago. It hasn't changed in size. At first I thought he might be getting ick. It does look like a pimple but a very shiny one. I can try and get a better photo if that will help.

Is he flaring at something a whole lot?
Sometimes if my bettas flare for long periods of time, they actually have scales on the outsides of their gills that come loose.

He has only flared a few times. He won't even flare at a mirror. He swims a way from it.
