I've posted my various problems with my bettas and tetras and most everyone suggested it was the serpaes. I never witnessed aggressive behaviour from them personally but today I noticed the brawl between my serpaes and black skirt tetras when it was food time. The black skirt tetras would zoom towards the food and snatch it from out in front of the serpaes, not really attacking them but this seemed to anger the serpaes. They just got a "swimming" start and rammed the black skirts into the wall until they became submissive and left them alone to eat. Oh my what am I to do I have some very angry fishes

From your sig, I see that you only have 2. I suggest either getting rid of the sepae's or getting rid of everything else and keeping ONLY serpae's. As i see it, those are the only 2 options because you can't really add more serpaes into a 10 gal.

I'm also sorry to hear about your loss. If you want to keep a community, there can't be any super aggressive fish or eventually you will have more losses.

And may i also say that if you want to keep a community, i suggest a larger tank with places to hide and more territory to keep - we forget that some fish can be very territorial, and territory=space.

you can easily partition the 10 gal into 2-3 betta sections if you want to get more bettas and plan on getting a community tank.
