I saw this guy and had to have him. I loved my common Rubber nose so much then I saw this guy how looked like none I had seen before. So I took him home.

What is he. I know he is some type of Chaetostoma but what any clues?

He is a bit stressed so his colour it lighter. But he still has those strips. His dots on the nose are light colour where the common Rubber nose has dark spots. He also have a different shape.

What do you think ?

I think L187 the other is L187b . I think .

Does anyone grow algea for their plecos?? I'm thinking of tring to grow some green algea for my new fish.

I would go with either L187b, L188 or L413 looks nice though :)

The L187b has dark spots on the nose not White spots like this one. My other is the 187b. This guys is totally different. Even his head shape is different. I'm wondering if he is even classified. Many are not and they are pretty much all wild caught. So there is no telling what you get something. He looks healthy and seems happy.

Good point :good: since he has white spots on his nose why not call him Chatestoma sp "snowflake" Could even go so far as getting it as L331 (if it wasnt taken)

I would probably stick to what you originally thought and say 187, quite confusing plecs to me lol.

Anyways, stunning specimen :)

I'm thinking it might be not identified too. I can't find any that look like him 100%. I posted a think on planet catfish. They think he might not be classified.

Yeah I have some brown algea but I might grow some green algea for this guy.
