please help me...my black molly gave birth to 6 babies today, while i was admiring the new additions i realised i couldnt see my other pregnant molly! ...i have looked everywhere in and around the tank (can mollies jump?) i'm getting kind of frantic now ...can anyone help?

They can hide behind or under anything if they are having babies.

If you don't see it on the floor (I hope it didn't jump :X ) it's most likely hiding very well. I lost a female swordtail for 3 days when she did the same thing. She hid so well and had her babies I thought she may have leaped out.

I had a hatchet fish go missing and tore up the tank looking for it. Came to the conclucion that the housekeeper sucked it up in the vacuum. Monitor your NitrAtes carefully. That will determine if the fish is dead in the tank.

They can jump if something scared them or unhappy with the water conditions.

What other fishes do you have in the tank? If you have a pl*co and the molly died to the birth, then it (pl*co) would have eaten her.
