Sand, and Coral substrate, for my 20 gallon brackish tank for the juvenille GSP. I got one 10g bag of sand and one 10g coral substrate? Good bad? Would I clean the coral with the sand?

When I bought coral for my puffs the lfs people told me not to rinse it because the dust is calcium which help stabalize a good Ph and hardness for them.

For some reason they highly recommended not to use sand so I have a very fine sandlike gravel, either way that should be rinsed.

Just the other day I picked up a bag of crushed coral for my GSPs when they move tanks. My fav LFS said it would do plenty good esp as their SG is now over 1.010 towards buffering the water.

I'd still want to rinse it first tho. I dont think you have too much to worry with regarding calcium as you have fish only there.... the puffs get their calcium from the snails and inverts you feed them.
