I am so Awful

I am so very Sorry Magenta.

In my Stupidity and sleepiness I forgot to turn off the table lamp near the Tank.

I wake up and Magenta Anal Section has turned brown.


I have taken him out and put him in isolation,

added anti fungus and finrot

added some food

added 3 oxy tablets to help him breath.


Please feel free to burn me, i deserve it.


I forgot that i had put in a new bulb and did notread the label.

I turns out to be a 60Watt buld. It should have been a 30watt bulb.

should get yourself an automatic timer that you plug your lights into that way you don't have to worry about it mate.. hope he's ok mate.

Sorry psgill, I know it's not all of us who can say we've cooked a betta but I know how you feel, I accidently cooked one of my kitchen bettas once....I left him (within a safe distance, I thought) next to a slow cooker over night ...you see where I'm going with this

Thanks Wuv. I still feel so awful about it. i have put him in a largr vase ashe has perked up somewhat. even though he has cotton wool on his dorsal fin, it may have been in the tank he was in at the LFS.

He looks so strange. the back half of him has gone translucent and he is still able to swim properly. Just hope he pulls through.

I was going to release Magenta into the tank this weekend with the rest of the fish and put acide/ now called candy into the barracks. he looks so sad in the vase.

An Update on Libby (decided to call him the after the breed.). He is swimming around and is very active, he has no ill effects from being ripped by barbs. he is very happy.

We've all had our fish accidents. Don't beat yourself up too much, I hope your little guy makes it ok! You won't believe what I did the other day... I was scooping out some plant debris from my tank, I put the net down in my bucket, and was looking around my tank and could not find one of my guppies, so I thought "No way... I couldn't have..." I run back, and find my little guppy Neptune in the net, out in dry air for over a minute. I put him back in asap and he's good as ever but I felt terrible.

So don't want to loose anymore.

Look's like magenta Infected the whole tank B4 I could take him out.

My Lovely Maroon's mouth is all Fluffy. have treated the whole tank now.
