I have been watching him closly for the last three days and now I am for sure he has some kind of parasite. His belly is sinking in and I saw a white string thing come oiut of him yesterday. What I need to know is how to treat a internal parasite??I have never had to deal with this type of thing before. This didnt happen until I feed them some frozen brine shrimp which I got for my golden nugget. Could someone please tell me how to make him better. He is one of my favorite fish I dont want to lose him...

Did you only notice that his belly was sinking in when you fed him the shrimp? I find that in my tanks, brine shrimp and bloodworm can cause slight constipation in the fish if it has not been de-frosted. If this is the case, then the 'white string thing' you saw come out of him yesterday may have been the waste. If not, explain his symptoms to someone at your LFS and they will be able to prescribe treatment for him. Remember if you feed your fish any frozen foods in the future always defrost it as frozen stuff is always very likely to cause all sorts of problems! I hope I've helped a bit! :dunno:

I am sorry to add that I did defrost it I never put anything in my tanks that is frozen. I learned that the hard way. He is stay in one place but he seem to be swiming real fast but going no where if that makes any sence..

I will have a chat with a pal of mine as he has used a brand of worming tablets in the past.
I cannot see the frozen brine shrimp being to blame. What other stuff are you feeding it? I have heard that cucumber seeds are supposed to help get rid of internal worms. Whether this is true or not I am unsure. If you have a cucumber clip you could try a small chunk of it cut length ways to expose the centre for easy access for it to the seeds. It might help.
Did you get the white stringy thingy out the tank for further inspection?
Do you have a test kit to test the water? This might have something to do with its strange swimming behavour?
Will be in touch soon with some answers on the worming side ASAP.

Thanks everyone but my Green Terror passed away this morning... :rip: :rip: :rip: :byebye: :byebye: This makes me so sad I have had that fish for a while almost two years. I went and got me another one just a little bit ago..I know it wont take the place of the one that died but I really do like those Terrors that are a very friendly fish...
