Hydroid Jelly Macro Pic

i took this pic today, and have since been advised that its a hydroid jellyfish, done a wee bit of research and found it to be in the main harmless, is this correct, but as i've no fish at the mo am i likely to get a bloom of these things

Yep, they're harmless. They have a polyp stage too where they look similar to small yellow polyp coral. You'll probably notice they generally come in waves, where you have a lot for a while and they all go away and at some point come back again.
