Hydro Prime 20 + External Filter

Have a 2nd hand Hydro Prime 20+ that is leaking at the points where the lid clips to the cannister. Anyone got any ideas? I have no instuction manual and was wondering if there is a knack to fixing the lid on. It is stiff and difficult to put on and the clips seem useless.

Any help or suggestions welcome.
