Sooo... tonight I was really bored, and while feeding my babies, I noticed a hydra stuck to the front glass
Did I make a plan to go buy hydra-killing chemicals tomorrow? No, I'm afraid they would hurt the fry. Did I just clean the entire tank out? No, that would mean moving the fry. Instead, I decided to go on the attack -- with my deadly eyedropper of DOOM!!!
I blew very gentle and rapid puffs of water across the bottom of the tank; anything that stuck to the glass rather than scattering (and that wasn't a snail) was instantly identified as the enemy and subjected to the vicious vacuum of the deadly TURKEY BASTER!!!

All the snail poo on the bottom (and all the fry, for that matter) collected into one convenient corner as I performed my search, so I also suctioned the gunk out when I was finished and the tank is squeaky clean now ^_^. I may clean it like that every time, at least until the fry are bigger.
Only 3 fry were sucked up in the process -- a new record! They were, of course, returned to the tank safe and sound. The hydra, however.... :shifty:

The turkey baster giveth, and the turkey baster taketh away.

 It sounds like you had WAAAAAAAY too much fun doing that. :)
Those hydra never knew what hit them :shifty:
I also enjoyed ruthlessly crushing the one on the front glass with my finger ^_^

Okay I give ... what is a "hydra"?

When I googled "hydra" the image below is what popped up ... I am assuming that you did not have a multi-headed dragon in your fry tank?? :dunno:

LOL!!
A hydra is a tiny aquatic creature that has little stinging tentacles. Looks like this (this one has a baby budding off of it)

I just have a question---How did that get into your tank?
I'm pretty sure they came in on some live plants. They're one of those things that just seem to show up out of nowhere *lol*
