Hurricane Rita

Well...we got hit by Hurricane Rita. We've been out of power since Friday and it's miserably hot. I'm at someone's house now and I'm able to be online because they're running a generator.

Anyway, I wanted to update about my bettas... Though me, my fiance, the dogs and cats are miserable, the bettas have made the BIGGEST bubblenests I've ever seen! It makes me feel better to know that they're so happy. Even my oldest betta has made a huge nest. One of Synirr's baby's has made the biggest one. It covers the entire surface of his water and it's super thick. I wish I could post pics. I'll try to get some tomorrow and post them when we've got power again.

So, breeders, if you're having trouble getting your guys to build nests...my suggestion is for you to turn off all power in your house for 5 days. I bet it'll do the trick!

My guess is that it's actually the rain and the air pressure making them randy. Not the lack of electricity

But it's awesome none the less.

Yup, the rain and conditions such as that make the bettas quite "happy" for a lack of a better term. its been quite rainy here lately and well, lets just say I have eggs/fry in my imbellis tank.. AGAIN.

Haha, that's so cute! Mine did the exact same thing. Sitri almost never makes a bubblenest, but even he had a rather large one going!

WE GOT POWER! haha Sorry, I'm a little excited. Now with the lights on, I can see that the little girls from Synirr have breeding stripes! My fiance said to them, "Now girls, aren't you a little young for that?" haha It's so funny. Now...off to clean the messy house...
