Huh?

"river" shrimp as commonly sold here in the UK as food
are coldwater brackish shrimp and won't live for very long in tropical freshwater.

algae shrimp are a tropical freshwater shrimp that helps keep your tank algae
under control (note not algae free).

We buy river shrimp for our Africans and wondered how long they would live in a bag of water as the place we get it from is not local. We wanted to by a weeks supply in one go.
Also our LFS sells algae shrimp for £3 each where as the river shrimp are 25 for £1 and they look pretty similar... I guess there is an abundance of river shrimp

all you need is a filtered 10g with brackish water and an airstone running.
then they will stay alive for weeks.
