couple of days ago, my sea cucmber spawned and wiped out my fish, expect for shrimp. i did a water change and all the shrimp seem fine, now this morning i wake up and they are dead. im sick as a pig. i`ve tried PH buffer as that was a bit low, i cannot seem anyprobs with the water it self, corels seem ok, not drooping or anything. just can`t explain it.

how dishearting can this be. im so peed off.

That is terrible! It seems that there are several things that can be in a reef setup that can wipe out everything when conditions are right/wrong. What will you do now?

ALASKA

I wish you the best.

I would be devistated, I am so sorry to hear this heartbreaking news. You have my deepest sympathy.

Dont give up, in trying to look at the bright side of life, now that you dont have any fish in the tank your corals and other small critters will take off like weeds. Its good to give your reef a break from the fish.

This is sad news mac. So sorry. I thank myself every day for my last-second decision on one order to cancel the cucumber. Seems like a not uncommon occurrence. I'm not sure it spawned. Sounds more like it got threatened/wounded and spilled its guts.

Good to hear the corals seem ok. Keep monitoring.

I later found it tried to spawn, apparently they do so if they feel their life is at stake. thousand of small tiny yellow balls... its still alive. and the shrimp are ok.. well only my pair of boxer shrimp, 2 decorater crabs survived, this pencil spikey thing survived, and the usuall snals and hermits etc.. so not a complete loss....

yhx for sympathy.. i don`t wanna go thru that again in a hurry... :)
