A news item came on at the end of my local 'North-East News' earlier today> It was of a Goldfish which has grown from a 2inch Funfair prize to a 15 Inch long, 5 inch high tankbuster! (With nice long-finnage)
The Granny who owns it has fed it twice a day and clean out regularly for 15 years and she is hoping to out-live him. (She is 85)

The clip was pretty funny and maybe an eye-opener for some people who don't think they get very big...

Anyone in the area see it?

Fantastic little story! Nice to read something cheery instead of the normal doom and gloom you find in the news.
Fair play to her and I hope he lives another few years. She obviously loves it to pieces and gets great pleasure from it. :)

Yep, they usually have a quirky little story at the end of all the muggings, robberies, fires etc...

>The presenter held up a small Goldfish in a bag next to the tank and there was an almighty difference!

Not sure how long they usually live, but the Granny said she may have treat it too well over the years (if thats possible).
It looked like it was breathing O.k and would not be far off a fully grown Oscar, I reckon.

Just saw the fish in my regional news in the south here is a link to see him for yourself Big Fish

It seems like the same story, but in a different location> unless the woman was originally from the North-East and moved to Kent.

Or, it is an almost identical news item> brought upon by a National search for the largest Goldfish??

Either way, it's a bit of fun and some promotion of fishkeeping...
