Do you like that site? I find it very informing and helps a lot in the keeping of fish. While I am on the topic, has anyone ever ordered from there?

I like it, although I have never had to order from there. I tend to get a lot of stuff at my lfs, so I don't really need to order online. :D

No, because first they write something and after that they still do it different. Those white coats don't make it any better *(

E.g. quotation of these pages:

Bumble bee goby:

[] The ideal set-up is an aquarium with brackish water [] Even though they live in the brackish water, the addition of freshwater will induce spawning. [] Ideal tank mates include: Livebearers, Tetras, Danios, Barbs, Rasboras, Gouramis, Rainbowfish, Cory cats, and Plecos.

Bumble bee goby lives mostly in brackish water like they wrote, fresh water can induce spawning (like they wrote too). And hard/alkaline fresh water it the best choice for them when keeping them in fresh water only some time, pH ~8,0 and GH middle hard - hard.

But, then they give some tank mates. Look at those choices! How many of them will live in brackish or basic/hard water?

*(
Off topic:
How do you know that some "fat burners" etc. don't work? If the intruducer is wearing white coat then you know the product is totally rubbish.

Has anyone read those articles? http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/general...ral_pagesid=176 Were they good?

Edit. I watched quickly some of those articles and they seem to be quite good. Unfortunately they haven't written articles without sales promotion. It's still commercial site.

i like them because they are a good starting point for info on a fish (namely size adn food, i ignore their suggested tank mates, like mr v said, they often contridict themselves or give less than good advice onthat), but htey are great for pictures and give the scientific names (good to have for many fish taht have multiple common names or sharea common name with antoher fish). i would never order from them, i'd spend more inshipping than on the actual fish, but i like to use them as an additional reference and a jumping off point when i'm researching a new fish.

I get a few tidbits of information from there, and It helped me dig through the plethora of marine fish for a future tank, but they are extremely commercial and give out some false information that may confuse a newbie.
Its not just liveaquaria, but foster and smith in general. for dogs, cats, ferrets etc. they tell you how your HAVE to have your pet on this medication we sell or it will die . with fish they usually try to get you to buy pH lowering chemicals and cycling chemicals and Small killing chemicals and loads of other garbage.
It also bugs me how they refer to fish as "Products"
