It has amazing prices, has anybody ever used it? I'm interested in the 'fuges and the the lighting.

I tried to, but they asked for a certain credit card code; one that would verify them as the card holder. Was far too big of a risk for my parents (and would have been for me, too). That terminated any business they would have otherwise got from me.

I've dealt with them before back when I had PCs. Everything arrived as-ordered and I didnt have any problems with the process in general. My only qualm is that the lights that they do carry are a little cheap both in cost and construction. You get what you pay for...

Anyone else used it? The vote is pretty much split right now....

I bought two 36" CFL fixtures from them for my planted tank. Everything arrived in good-shape. They are really cheap looking fixtures (construction-wise), and they run pretty hot. I had to put walmart a fan over them to keep them cool. It was worth it though. I only paid about $70 for the two fixtures when they were having a sale vs. the $150-200 I would've paid for a better brand. They've been running for just over a year now with no problems. I would probably replace the bulbs though, they're pretty bad and caused a bunch of hair algae growth when I first got them. I swapped them out for some 6700k ebay bulbs after about a month. Also, a friend of mine got one of the new MH fixtures they have out (with separate electronic ballasts for everything) and it's pretty decent, but the fans are a bit noisy. Also, their fuges seem ok, I couldn't really see much going wrong with them. Some people say that the lights cause fires and stuff, but those were the older fixtures with magnetic ballasts. I agree with Ski, you get what you pay for and don't expect the best equipment ever.

Check out these threads on reefcentral about the odyssea brand products people have tried:

I think I want a more sturdy fixture, cause I can be clumsy sometimes. So I think I'll just spend a little more and get them from somewhere else. Thanks for all the input, guys.

I might still get the refugium there, though.

They're not really flimsy fixtures, they just look cheap and seem to be made of cheap materials. Hell, I've dropped mine on the floor and in the tank several times and they're still going strong.

Mine has been working well for almost a year; but the fans no longer work. Luckily it does not seem to need them.

So you did buy from them then, Lynden?
xJake said they were hot so that made me think they need a fan.
I still don't think I'll buy them. I want something that looks strong.

i just placed an order for (3) EX350 Odyssea Powerheads and 1 WP-700 Oddysea Water Pump for my invert breeder tanks for $77 shipped.

ill let you know how it goes.

i have bought many things from aquartraders.com. i actuallt just ordered a 4 pak of 6700K PC bulbs for my 48" jebo PC light fixture i got from them a few yrs ago. everything is in perfect working order. unlike the new lights from odyssea"jebo" the older model were built alot better but do run a little hot but nuthing a cheap computer fan from radio shack wont fix. i have ordered many things from them and everyone claims bad customer service. i have had nuthing but good srvice and now they offer pay by money order which i recommend for any transactions over the internet.
