Hql Lighting

ok ive just bought 2 of these off ebay so now i wanna know if there any good

I was looking at these a while ago... Their main advantage seems to be deeper penetration for easier growing of low/short plants, and also their minimalist, uncluttered look, allowing you to focus on just the aquarium, and not having anything attached to the rim... On the downside, they will use more electricity. Do let us know what you think when you get them inbstalled. I have wondered what the light they produce is like. Do you know what colour temp. they claim?

i havnt got a big clue about them at al ive won them off ebay all i know is there switchable between 80 and 125 watts and mine r blue might change that to black though :good:

my lights arrived today so naturally i wanted to test them out as u do :D

anyway its like having the bloody sun on in my front room powerful does not even begine to cover these things!!!

they also seem to have a nice little feature that they gradually build up to maximum brightness over around 10 mins, should stop fish getting startled and lights instantly coming on at least :good:

So, what colour are they? Orangy or more of a white or white/purple? Do tell! And do they get very hot?

Ya lets see them after you painted them... and some pics with them on over your tank. I like the design of them I just dont know how I could feasily put them in my setup.
