Hqi Lighting Question

I am trying to make a lighting cap and i found a shop that are selling Building site halogen flood lights.

Before I go out and buy one to try. Is there any differance between the Halogen bulb double end connector and a HQI double end connector or is it just the same connector but a different type of bulb that you need for your requirements.

So what i mean is
Can i buy a building site halogen (500w) flood light and place in a HQI 500W bulb?
