So after quite a bit of research, I'm going to hold off on setting up a 40g reef. Considering I've never kept a marine tank before I'm gonna set up a 30g fowlr, to get my feet wet a bit before going for a full-blown reef.

Here's the plan:
30g long tank; 2 aquaclear 30's; SeaClone 100 Skimmer; 36" Glo T5 double bulb; approx. 35lbs live rock; sand; Hydor Koralia nano pump(240gph).
That should be enough flow right?

Now the stocking:
I am pretty set on:
1x Coral Beauty Angel
1x Clown Goby
1x Ocellaris Clown
1x 6 Line Wrasse

Also interested in keeping:
Royal Gramma & either Dottyback/Goby/Blenny

CUC: 1x Coral Banded Shrimp; 1-2 hermit crabs; 2-3 snails (turbo I guess)

Any opinions on my setup? Compatibility Issues? Recommendations?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I've read 6lines are mean. Never had one, but I've read alot...probably too much

With live rock as the filtration, I'd still aim for 15x times tank turnover for filtration. What are the aquaclears for? You won't need additional filters w/the live rock.

As far as I've read they will only fight with similar species. As for the aquaclears, I have them lying around, figured I'd run atleast one with like 2 sponges or something. And as for the Koralias I originally was gonna get two, I guess I will now. I just thought that might be adequate with one.

6-lines can get spunky with significant old age. They're model citizens for years but then turn bipolar. A coral beauty is a gorgeous fish, but not reef-safe down the road. First things that came to mind :)

I would either go with the 6 line or the royal gramma. Not both.

I have had a coral beatuy for 3 months now. Beautiful fish and no problems with coral nipping so far. fingers crossed.

i would go for definetly a pair of clowns, a flasher wrasse of some description carpenters i personally prefer. some psuedochromis can be quite aggresive so becareful on that one specially magenta dottyback or strawberry fish,if you like purple go the orchid dottyback twice the price but alot better behaved!
how about a midas or bi colour blenny ?
