I am very new to this forum but I spent a few hours reading through posts on here last night. So I figured I could run this by and see what you wall thought. I have been trying to design this tank for a few hours. Too many calculations running through my head after a 10 hour work day LOL. I think I have a decent design now though. I am going to make a wood aquarium with a glass front, the wood being 3/4" thick and the glass 3/8" thick. here is a pic from the top.

The front will look like from top to bottom, 8 inches wood, 3/4" glass above wood, 1' 6" viewable glass, 1.5" glass with 1.5" wood in front of it. I hope you can draw that picture in your head :-D. Tell me what you think?

It's been a while since I took physics courses, but some hunch tell me that the 3" "corner pieces" may be a bit small -- in each corner there'll be a lot of stress in two points that are pretty close together.

I figured if I took some metal braces of some sort or maybe even take a bit of sheet metal and cut strips to kinda of "wrap" about an inch width around the top and the bottom sort of like a bail of hay. That might support it more, plus the bottom I figure would add support. I am still contemplating many thoughts through my head :) so the more suggestions the better, thanks.
