i dont seem to get alets to messages left for me, although i seem to have it activated in my profile and my email address is added.

I had the same problem and found that on the Yahoo email I was using at the time, I had blocked all emails from gmail.com which is the domain alerts come from. Check your SPAM blockers to make sure gmail.com isn't blocked. Also, the site auto purges subscriptions after 4 day (I think) with no activity on the thread so after that, you would no longer get an email if someone replied.

I had problems with alerts for PM's and notices that a post has been reported etc. It was TeleDanmark's spam filter - I found the message eventually in their webmail spam folder.

I'm at a loss as to why you aren't getting emails. It somehow has to be related to SPAM filters, maybe not yours but your ISP. AOL emails have some of the tightest filters out there. Try adding to your address book to see if that helps.

A while ago I had a problem too. When I deleted something form my Hotmail inbox it went into my Deleted Items folder. But when I emptied that folder, I once reported all as Junk - and didn't realise that everything I reported as junk gets added to my blocked senders list. It took me ages to figure it out and go through my various settings and see who I have on my block list. The found out there were many more I weren't even aware of!
So it might be something like that.....

Agreed. Because of all the SPAM I got from gmail.com accounts, I had blocked all emails from the gmail.com domain and it took me forever to realize that's why I was no longer getting the alerts.

I'm sure it is something like that. I spent ages going through the board software looking for any reason it would not send, and found nothing. I had my own spam filter runing, and I spent just as long going through that, but nothing. It was not until I started trawling through the webmail settings at TeleDanmark did I find another layer of filtering, and there were the messages, plus a few others I'd have liked to have seen.

I have changed the email address so that it is @fishforums.net but I think that it may be the server which the emails are coming from which has been blacklisted, due to people subscribing for topics and instead of removing them via the forums labelling them as spam.

I now seem to be having the same problem as a PM sent this morning to close a thread in the BSS section did not get me an email. I only saw the PM when I came to the site a few minutes ago.
