Hey fishy peeps~~~~

I've been getting some feedback on my tank on other sites and some people suggested I put some plants in my tank. I don't know....
Take a look at it for a second and tell me if you would put plants in it--
and if you would, tell me where you would position the plants?
(feel free to save the image and draw on it to show me. :p )

I like it plantless, my big tank is all rocks with two silk plants in the far back corners. I bought new plants yesterday, put them in...and hated them. I like the way 'all rock' tanks look, especially yours Exiled, it's lovely just the way it is (IMO)

same here becasue ur tank is to me a "plantless" tank and i luv it the way it is, if u want to have a planted tank, it has to be HEAVILY planted to look good imo :D

Thanks guys -- I agree with you, "all rock" is a thing in itself. But some people were saying put plants in it--it got me self-conscious of the tank -- that maybe it looks too bare to other people. But then again, who cares what they think? Thanks for the support!

i think a couple of small plants would look good imo... like peeking out between rocks... u know the tye i mean? little broad leafed greed ones... only a few mind u, u dont need to go ott on it..... just a few small ones here an there...

I have always thought it would look better and might be good for the fish to have some nice well maintained plants. I think it's a bit sterile and a total boy's tank!!

LOL

Are you looking for ideas? I think that it looks fine the way it is, but it's definitely "harsh" - but harsh isn't bad.

If you want to spice it up, what about some colored rocks, perhaps red? Same size, just different color?

Hey, I really really like your tank, I think well kept plants can look awesome but in a tank such as yours with a modern, sleek look I think plants could actually make it look worse, there is nothing worse then when plants sprawl out too much over a tank :)

i love the pointy rock u got there what kind r they and where did u get the

ps ur tank is just fine

The pyramid shaped rock in the center? Heheh from Israel -- Dead Sea. It's some sort of igneous rock. VERY heavy.

Thanks for the ideas, suggestions and feedback people..... I think I'll leave the tank as it is -- Lake Malawi-esque :D

:hey: I would improve that tank by putting it in MY apartment...LOL

Looks good the way it is...just like that!

Tiff

hi i thinkit just right the way it is a very lovey tank there u've got love the rocks wish it was my tank lol what fish u got in there

I think your tank matches the fish you have.... it's said that most of the lakes that cichlids live in are plantless. Besides, most cichlids dig plants up and make a mess of the plants (that should tell you that plants aren't welcome in their tanks? j/k  )

IF you were to improve on the tank, I'd just continue to add more rock in the back perhaps? Otherwise, I really don't see where you'd need improvement.

how heavy is that tank? :D
you must have a realy good stand!
i am getting a new one cause my old stand it an old dresser made of some sort of wood and its holding over 500lb!
it hasn't made any attempt to collapse but better safe then down the road have your stand tip, tanks crack and SPLOOSH! :-(
