Ok so, I'm pretty sure i have a male betta, And hes has alot of colors on him. (red, blue, white, and black) and i would like to mate him with a female to get some really kool lookin betta fry and such. Now how would i go about doin that¿ Any suggestions¿ Thanx in addvance.

hi! if your betta is a VT i would strongly advise not to breed him. also please get into the hobbie and understand that raising fry takes many hours a day. please take into consideration food, water changes, tanks, and jars for when they get older. VTs are in abundance and so if you ever do breed please breed a more desirible tail type such as a CT or a HM. thanks.

ok mabye i wont. i might just get a pair of females and put them in my 55. How do i distinguish betwwen a vt, ct, or hm¿is it there tails or something. Yeah i got my betta from a friend who had him in a 6in x 6in x 4in jar. Which i think was very cruel. But once i put him in the my 10 galllon then to my 20 gallon next week, He really opened up and really got his colors. He is such a neat looking fish. I wish i could show u guys pics but the dc disapeared. Anyways could you guys tell me how to distinguish that. Thanx.

im sorry i didnt mean to come off mean to you. its just we get this alot and if you read the pinned topic "something needs to change, my rant" you will understand. now for the females. just to make sure you understand what they look like they have much shorter fins than males and have a little white tube under their belly. now if you were to get females i would get 3 to spread out agression.

sorry again.

just remember new people dont know about the pinned topic and are here just to chat and learn some stuff. You can always just link them to the pinned article.

Don't breed veiltails, and don't breed until you have gained enough knowledge, and have conditioned your male and female for at least 2 weeks, I'd say.

Oh and one more thing, the upside down question marks is a   in my book. :p

yeah thanx guys. IM almost possitive i have a vt. So im gunna give up on tryin to breed them cuz its not worth it. and its ok coconutman no harm done.
