I need to trim the java moss in my 29g and 10g tank. What’s the best way to do so? I thought about having a running siphon in the tank, that way I could just suck up the trimmings.

I already have aquascaping scissors, I just want your guys tips. Thanks in advance.

Ahhh.... I’m so stupid, I meant to say Java Moss. Not Java Fern.

Mine are attached to things that are small enough to fit into a bucket or a tub, so I just pull them out and trim them in that, then swirl them in clean declorinated water to get the trimmings off. But if you have it attached to something too large for a tub, I'd just trim it and have a net handy, and try to scoop up the trimmings as you go. Or hold the bit you want to trim, cut it, and remove the bit by hand.

Just trim
Trim The top of it like giving it a hair cut. Java moss gets long and grows upward towards light when the light is stronger ibstead of growing up it will spread horizontally.
But what about all the little “strings” you get when trimming? My question was how do I prevent those from going everywhere in the tank.

Ok thanks. I’m hoping to add the trimmings to my 5g betta tank.
