How To Spilt A 4ft Tank

I have a bit of a tatty looking 4ft tank, and i would like to turn it into a double breeding tank which runs off 1 filter and hopefully 1 heat source. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips for the best and cheapest ways to do this?

Plastic "U" Channel runners. Cut 3 pcs 1 each for front and back panes and one for the base and slot a piece of drilled perspex into this. Silicone the "U" channel in situ and the perspex seperator can be slotted in or taken out as the need for more space arises. I would place 3 divisions in a 4 foot tank and I can use what ever combi. I choose.
