How To Sex A Pleco?

i have 3 common plecs and just wondered if there was anyway to sex them or do i have to wait and see if they breed?

As far as I am aware, they are only sexable when in season.

However, I would generally expect females to be fuller around the mid-section when they are egging up, so when the time comes, it should be pretty easy to tell.

as far as i know common plecs cant be spawned in an aquarium as they burrow in to mud banks might of imagined this info however so wait for someone else on the forum to help you

Genital papillia (sp?) could give a clue but they won't breed in a tank (which must be a big one to house 3 mature commons).
