How to prepare tap water?

Is there a favourite product endorsed by this community for cleaning tap water to prepare it for the tank?

Various people like different products! Many of the well known brands do the job well! Have a look on the bottle and make sure it states "For the removal of chlorine AND chloramine" and you should be fine!
