I bought hornwort, should be here within the next few days. Would someone please tell me how to plant it correctly? I want it to be in free flow and not planted in the substrate. I have a pretty high water flow in my aquarium, its a 29G running two filters, one aqueon 30G filter and another Marineland Penguin 350 filter

If you don't want it planted in the substrate, then just chuck it in; it'll end up pushed by your filters to some corner or other.

Just toss it in, but before you do make sure to swish it around in some water outside of your tank, all the hornwort I ever bought always loses bristles when I put it in my water, and it takes ahwile to find it all and suck it out. If you plant it, whatever goes into your substrate will just die off and the plant will float anyways

You can but then you'd transfer the chlorine from the tap into the tank. I'd use tank water and store a bit after a WC.
