Hey People, Basically I've been researching into nano marine for a while now (About 6 months serious research).

It will be a FOWLR, around 20 gallons depending on how I choose to set it up :)

The problam I've got is which method to go?

1. The package deals like this ?

I hear really good things about these tanks. Any input on them? With this, everything (pretty much) is included, which is a good thing.

2. I could buy a basic tank (Clearseal ect), and I really like the idea of a "fake wall", with 3 or so compartments
containing LR rubble, macro algaes and phosphate removers ect. (or along those lines). Then buy my lights, powerheads ect seperately.

What are the good and bad points about this kind of setup?

3. Or just go with the basic LR, powerheads ect, without the "fake wall"

I know this works for most people, I just want to know if any of the above are slightly better then this?

I've ruled out a sump because I'm not really bothered by equipment, and I'm not really bothered about fish at all really,
So it will be pretty under-stocked. I'm happy with hermits and snails ;)

And any other information would be great :good:

Cheers,

Maximus

IMO, a nano cube like the first one you linked will be great for a beginner FOWLR setup. That also looks like a pretty good price to me from what little I do know about UK costs. My vote would be for the cube :good:

Thanks Ski...I was hoping you would reply :good:

I've been researching them for a while now and they seem pretty "adaptable"

I.e a few people have created a fuge in the 2nd compartment. And it looks like i'll need to replace the main pump
before I even set it up

The only thing I don't have a clue about is lighting tbh.

I don't want to try hard corals, but what would the lighting be good for?

I figured 24 gallons is a *bigish* nano, (if that makes sense) so it's a good start-point.

For currency just double the price for $, it's around that.

Any other help/input would go down well too :)

Softies and easier LPS should do fine in that tank. Zoos, leathers, maybe a brain coral, some xenia, capnella should all do well :)

bubble coral should also work, they like low flow and low light since thats what its like in the wild for them.

I just had a thought.

The 'package' I want to get had early problems with cracking glass I think...

But has this been sorted out now?

yeah i heard about nano-cube cracks, bio-cubes and other all in ones had a great time since nano-cubes lost a lot of popularity then and people just bought the bio-cubes which is another very popular all in one. But the problem with glass cracking should be fixed i think.

Yeah, it was an OLD problem with a specific manufacturing run of these tanks. Long since fixed.

Phew, thanks for that you two :good:

Also, is this tank acrylic? The website is great for prices and products, but useless on the information side.

Can you please tell me the manufacturer of it too? So I can find some decent reviews. Or is this the only 24g cube out there?

Thanks again :)

Hey thanks for the links :)

But is it the same company that makes them in the UK + USA?

Because the prices are really different

Thanks again

i dunno, i think it is, prices would be different from shipping, if it is an american brand it will cost more in the Uk as well as vise versa.
