How to make my guppies breed quicker

I have 1 male and 1 female guppie and it has only had one baby since i got it like a month ago. people say their's has like 4 er 5 evey other week how can mine do that?

I've never heard of drops every other week. If you want more fry I have two options. 1) get another female guppy. 2) get a trio of mollies, mollies have more fry then guppies, almost 30 fry a drop. Mu guppies only had around 10 fry a drop. Good Luck!

Its a cchance that some of them will die, some will be deformed. The others, you can keep the best, and ask any lfs near you if they will take them for credit for you at that lfs.

You'll have to work that out with your lfs. Most big chains such as PetCo or Petsmart probably won't take fry. Because they're such a big chain, one person with 20 fry won't really matter. So try the smaller lfs.

Hi i think you need to get another female guppy first because the amle will kill her because he will constantly try and breed with her and she will get ill and eventually die also if you want more fry when she get really big put her in the net and she will give birth just as long as you dont put her in there to early and also if she give birth in the tank then she and other fish will eat them thats why you only got 1 baby and you said that people you asked they said theres give birth onjce a week they are lieing because they cant it is every 4 - 6 weeks hope that helped.

It was in the breeder when it was born so how could other fish have eaten it?

Fishy Jon like someone else suggested you need to get a second female;Reason being that the constant harassment from the male will eventually kill her.Second,and very important,make sure your tank has the proper conditions;Meaning make sure to keep amonia and other toxins at a normal level,temperature and more importantly,you are providing a balance diet that
includes flakes,frozen,freeze dry and live.

Another thing I wanted to say is that not all varieties of guppies are as fertile as others.For instance albino guppies have problems with infertility on both males and females and on the other hand, moscows and all the half black varieties usually have tons of babies.

On a personal note,I used to have this half black blue(blue toxido)female and every 4 weeks or so she used to have at least 50 babies.After a while I gave the male away and kept her and the other female.I had so many babies that I have to introduce some of my friends in the art of keeping fish as a hobby.Many of them blame my now for they are going through the same dilema now.What to do with so many fish

some one told me you could trade them in to your lfs for store credit. Thats what i'm planning to do if i get alot even with my platies.

i accually dissagry with this, the guppies that i have breed like rabits and i was getting 30 fry out of everyfemale a month, then i seperated male from female because i got overwhelmed by it. my mollies had about the same amount everymonth.
