how to make a wet/dry

does anyone know how to make a wet/dry without drilling holes in the bottom of the tank

Make yourself up a H.O.B. filter.

You will need a suitable sized acrylic box a couple pieces of acrylic, some pipe and fittings, a suitable pump and some time.

HOB = Hang On Back (also called HOT = Hang On Tank). Basically a filter which you stick on the back (or side) of your tank which enables you to keep most of the equipment outside the tank.

Here's a link to some in the States. The only place I've found available to the UK are Eheim Liberty ones on a couple of sites in Germany.
