I was wondering how to make a floating plant corral/guard for an aqua clear 30 so the floating plants dont go underwater?...

Use a piece of airline and join the 2 ends with an airline joiner. You can also use clear plastic hose from a hardware store, or anything that floats.

Tie a length (10-12 inches) of string to the plastic ring and tie the other end of the string to a suction cup.

Put the suction cup on the glass about half way down. Stick the suction cup to the tank on the opposite end of the filter.

The plants go inside the airline loop and the loop is held at the other end of the tank by the string and suction cup. When you do a water change, the string allows the airline loop to move up and down with the water level.

You can also put a round/ cylindrical sponge from an internal power filter, on the inlet cage of the AquaClear and it will stop plants and small things being sucked into the filter.

ok i have a SUPER CHEAP OPTION

you know those bendy straws?
if you dont have a bendy one, use a normal one but bend it one more time (it is harder but i guess it is possible
get as many of them as you want minimum 3
smash the short end until it is flat
then fold that in half. stick it inside the long end of another straw, and repeat, soon you can connect all 4 straws and have a pretty little floater corral.
if you want to stick it to a wall, get a piece of string, tie it around, then tie that around the wall or use tape (out of the water unless its some sort of water proof)
it is very cool and duckweed mats in there like after 3 days
