ISO, Shutter speed, aperture and other stuff. What sights do a good job of explaining this stuff? Like when to use what. I kinda understand what each one is, put really no idea how to apply the knowledge.
When I was first starting out in photography I found the following guide very easy to understand and learn from. It's written for the Sony h-series of prosumer cameras but the theories and techniques it explains are pretty universal and should set you on the right track.
Other than that, once you've mastered the basics its pretty much a case of practicing, and finding photographs you like, trying to figure out how they were achieved and then attempt to emulate them (getting a plugin for your internet browser that allows you to examine EXIF data of images is very useful for this).
