hi i have a four foot tank in which i have sand as substrate.

the trouble is that it never stays on the bottom and is allways little bits floating about in the water,

i have an eheim 2028, there are a few corydoras(about 4) which i know stir it up a bit but it just never seems to settle.

what am i doing wrong as i look on the other owners pictures and they look crystal clear???

could it be the way i have my filter setup as i have the inlet in the bottom right corner and the outlet pipe at the left top corner slightly disturbing the surface, could it be not enough water circulation?

any help would be much appreciated.

If you haven't cleaned it properly then it could be the dirt coming out of the sand. Do a 50% w/c then see what happens, it could take some time to get clean. I have play sand but my water is super clear, Have you enough filtration? I don't know much about eheims.

thanks, i thought i had enough filtration as i have the eheim 2028 which does up to a 600l tank, mine is only 180l.so i thoght that would of don the job.

Thats enough then! give it time to settle, it should work out.
