How To Go From Fo To A Planted Tank?

Like to do plants but is there a list that has from all the years of having tanks all over did someone come up with tropical fish a plant safe fish list! I see one for Saltwater Reef safe fish can not find one for freshwater?
All the years you all much know from putting fish in the tank which groups are good with plant!
Alot say to read yes put is there a list down from someone 1 do this 2 do this and so on plus a books or books that you found that really help as a guide form all the years of a setup in tank for plants all said read but not said where and go there put what to read too much need help?

Ok I'll try as he sounds like my kids when they're excited. (NO offense meant fishtk75) There is a list of plants that can be used in saltwater and I think he wants to know if there is a comparable list for tropical freshwater tanks. Also which plants are good with fish and fish recomendations for a planted tank. In other words which plants are best. He also wants to know which books you would reccomend that would help him set up the tank. I don't think he knows where to begin.
