Hi all just wondering what male you would need to use to get parrot babies? my guess is a male convict.Am i right?

male pink convict will make jellybean parrots.
male convict must be pink tho.

NO THEY DONT

How many times do I have to tell people this. The resulting fish from pairing a pink con with a BP is not pink, its greenish/grey like a convict and has stripes. The pink in pink cons is a recessive gene so both parents must have it to produce pink fry.Since a BP does not carry the gene the fry cannot be pink. Just because short body pink convicts look a bit like parrots does not mean that they are part parrot.

To answer the origional question.

You will probably not be able to spawn your own full parrots but using a red devil/midas as the father will produce as close as you can get(very few fry if any will be parrot shaped so you might need to cross back to the mother). If you can get your hands on a short body midas or devil then you will get much more parrot looking fry.

JB/Short body pink cons have normal mouths and have the big stomaches due to being short bodies. Heres one of my old ones.

Heres a striped one too, the member(another forum)that bred this guy said he appeared in a batch of fry from a pair of regular striped cons.

T, What would you get if you crossed a shortbody con with a parrot? More "parroty" shaped babies?

I wish we had jellybeans here! It took me years to track down parrots, maybe one day I'll stumble on a couple.
They definately just look like a strain of stunted convicts (like how nymphs are just stunted comet goldfish).

Here are a couple of vids that show them pretty clearly (not mine unfortunately)
