How To Get Neons To School

I've done a search of this site and also on the web but the only info i've found is that its a way to defend themselves, although I don't want them to live a life of being scared I would also like to have them schooling. Whats my options? What could I add to make them school ?

Currently I've got

4 cory jullis
7 sunset platies
2 opaline gouramis
1 krib
1 red tail shark

have 10 that sort of stick together, I might get another 10 at the weekend

I assume the more you have the more they appear to be schooling

Its a 100l tank, about 20 gallons I believe, and i've currently got 12 neons. Sorry I shouldv'e mentioned that in the original post !!

Schooling is a defense strategy - if your fish do not feel threatened, (which is good), they will not adopt a defensive posture. In a tank that small, schooling would be unusual anyway.

I once went into my LFS and saw a small species of about 40 fish slowly schooling in circles round the tank... Looked amazing but not sure why they were doing it!
