Hi,

I have a tank gallon cycled tank with 3 Platy's. Recently I have added 3 Panda Cory's which must be only a couple of months old as they are tiny! They have settled in fine but I am slightly concerned that they are not getting enough food. Whenever I put any flakes into the tank the 3 Platy's gobble it all up and I am sure that none ever reaches the bottom. I then decided to buy some small wafers which sink to the bottom but the Platy's seem to love these too and don't give the Panda's a look in! Is there any food which the Cory's will like but the Platy's won't? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi JamesP :)

You might try feeding them after you turn the lights off at night. Corys are nocturnal fish and are looking for food during the night too. They don't have to see it because they sense it with their barbels. If you can, watch how they use them to feel around for it.

Another possibility is feeding them live blackworms. While your platties will enjoy them too, enough of them might find their way into the gravel so that your corys can find them and pull them out when they are hungry.
