I just started my fiddler crab tank and it, obviously, got cloudy when I dumped the water in because of the crap from the gravel. Well, it's been a couple days and it's still cloudy. I used some crystal clear from Petsmart last night, but it doesn't seem to be any better.

Anything else I can do/use to clear it up? -_-

I had the same question. How does the carbon work? I.e. drop it in, put it in filter, under gravel, etc.

Mine goes in a media bag in the filter. Check you filter owners manual to see if there is a place to put the carbon in. You could also try some filter floss in your filter. I have had no luck with water clearing products. You just really have to wait until the dust settles. You may be having a bacteria boom in your tank, if you upset the gravel a lot it can cause a bacteria boom. It should go away in a few days on its own.

hi LocoLT1,
the water should clear of its own accord without any chemicals so I woudlnt keep adding it. Crabs are very sensitive to things that may not affect fish at all so be careful what you add, and watch nitirite and nitrate, both can kill crabs. Its a better idea to put them in a properly cycled tank. Have you got plenty of land for them as they like to stand and wave their big claw to claim territory.

I agree with the previous post. Time will clear it. Carbon is good for clearing up discolored water, but it will not do much for cloudy water. You just need to give the aquarium a chance to mature and settle in. I also do not recommend adding chemicals to the water if you can help it.

I've had mine for a few months and it's cloudy. I added an antibacterial tablet that discolored the water and haven't been able to replace the water because I have fry in a net breeder in there as well and can't let the water level go down too much. Once I remove the fry and clean it up, it will become normal again, right? Or do I still need to add carbon (I've got a filter with carbon in it, but the carbon is removed with the filter cartridge).
