I want to rehome my medusa pleco. I'm wondering what's the best way to get her out? Last time I caught her with a net and she got stuck in it. I don't want that to happen again.

How do you get these guys out of your tank without a net. Could I just pick it up with my hands? What should I do?

at my lfs, I get two bags, and coax the pleco/catch it using one of the two bags [whichever end with the plc in it.] Then just tie it up :)

honestly ... dont pick it up ... i acidently moved my bns hide away and he flipped out n stung me about 4 times

i just use a net then pick them out with my hands..

Any chance you could be inventive and maybe drive her into a colinder or something similar. She wouldn't get stuck in it if it were plastic or metal. And for the length of time it would be in the water I can't see it causing problems...

Just an idea. Then from there you could just pop her into a fish bag.

i have a plastic milk bottle with the top cut off (square bottle), i place this in one corner, then chase the plec that way, 9 times out of 10 they'll swim inside the bottle

i now use large 5 litre jug and a plastic plate to catch my plecos (they were both brand new - soaked in salt water before use - rinsed in boiling water and only used for fish tank - never washed in soap - only rinsed) - DONT use a net they very often get caught in them

Use a jug for my corys to as they get stuck in nets aswell

Get a clean glass jar, or one of those small fish bowls everyone despises. Put something tasty in there, put it on its side in the tank. Go watch TV for a while, checking during commercials.
